Protect Your Investment: The Essential RV Surge Protector
Your new RV is a significant investment, and safeguarding its sensitive electronics and appliances is paramount. The very first accessory you need is a robust surge protector. Why? Because campground power pedestals can be notoriously unpredictable, prone to power surges, voltage fluctuations, and even faulty wiring that can fry your RV's systems in an instant.
This 50 Amp Watchdog (also available in 30 Amp – simply select the correct option for your rig!) offers comprehensive protection. Beyond guarding against damaging surges, it provides real-time monitoring of power conditions, allows remote control and alerts via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and even tracks your power usage. While it's a vital piece of equipment and an investment in itself, the cost pales in comparison to replacing expensive RV components. Be sure to secure your device to prevent theft.
Stay Hydrated, The Healthy Way: Camco EvoFlex2 RV Drinking Water Hose
Ensure safe and clean drinking water on all your RV adventures with the Camco EvoFlex2 50-foot Drinking Water Hose. This isn't just any hose – it's specifically designed for RV use, reinforced with durable fabric, and incredibly lightweight for easy handling. Most importantly, it's crafted to keep your water pure, containing no lead, BPA, or phthalates, so you can drink with confidence. Its abrasion-resistant construction means it's built to last, providing reliable fresh water hook-ups trip after trip.
These tough hoses are the Cadillac of stinky slinkies, they will last many seasons even in the harshest conditions. If your neighbors like to drive or step on your hoses you are going to want one of these.
Positive: Super tough sewer hose that will withstand rough handling or other campers stepping or driving on it without leaking or crushing.
Negative: Doesn't collapse as easily as other hoses and tends to expand back out inside of storage containers. More expensive then cheaper but crushable sewer hoses.
Camco RhinoFLEX 20-ft Sewer Hose Kit: RV Tough.
Stop worrying about sewer hose failures. The Camco RhinoFLEX is the ultimate upgrade, built with steel-wire reinforced polyolefin to withstand accidental drive-overs, footsteps, and harsh conditions without crushing or leaking.
This 20-foot kit includes pre-attached swivel fittings and a transparent 4-in-1 adapter for easy, secure hookups. While incredibly durable, its robust design means it's a bit stiffer to compress for storage and a higher investment than flimsy hoses. For unmatched reliability, the RhinoFLEX is worth it.
In some states it's required that the sewer hose be captured and can not fall out of the sewer line, this elbow is by far the easiest way to make that happen and it works in most parks.
Positive: Has screw threads which will keep your sewer hose locked onto the sewer connection at most parks. Also separates between the elbow and threads which makes it easy to screw into the sewer line and allows you to store the elbow in your sewer storage tubes or bumper storage location.
Neutral: Has clear section that lets you see what's coming out.
Negative: With the larger 4" sewer connections the elbow is right on the ground, once screwed in it's hard to get the hose on sometimes.
Many RV's especially long fifth wheel's have multiple sewer connections, this "Y" allows you to connect them together into a single drain connection.
Positive: The swivel connectors make connecting hoses a snap and keeps your hoses kink free.
Negative: Only downside is that it does not fit into those tube storage containers that hang under the RV, or the bumper storage either. So you will either have to leave the hoses connected and store them in a bin with three caps on the hose ends, or rinse this Y connection really well before storing it.
Positive: Will help overcome some uneven or unlevel sites and they satisfy some states requirements to have sewer hoses off the ground.
Negative: If the campsite is severely unlevel they will not overcome the grade, also if the site has a steep edge between grass and asphalt the sidewinder has difficulty keeping the flow towards the sewer pipe.
